The
trainers at Lifestyle Fitness Center
firmly believe that staying in shape
can, and should, be fun. Sometimes a
little creativity is needed - especially
when it comes to cardio workouts. That
is why we developed the Everest
Challenge.Why
Everest? Well, as George Mallory once
said, "Because it is there." Using the
Discovery Channel's recent Everest
program as the inspiration, we have
developed treadmill-based programs to
simulate a trek up the mountain. We have
fantastic treadmills that will simulate
hiking up a 30 percent grade. Everest
will help members realize the benefit of
increased intensity without having to
run. This fitness challenge begins at
Base Camp and takes the climbers all the
way to the summit of 29,035 feet using a
combination of varying speeds and
incline levels to ascend the mountain.
Lifestyle members are able to track
their progress up the mountain on a map
in the club. While almost 200 climbers
have lost their lives attempting to
climb Everest, we promise that all
of our climbers will survive!
The Everest Challenge,
like most activities at Lifestyle, is
suitable for folks at all fitness
levels. Climbers may start at any
time, so inquire at the front counter
and get yourself on the trail to good
